Privacy Policy

Last updated: this policy describes ShohozCalculator's current data practices as of this version and will be updated if those practices change.

Introduction

This policy explains what information ShohozCalculator ("we," "us," "the site") collects when you use shohozcalculator.com, how that information is used, and what choices you have. We've written it to describe what the site actually does today, rather than a longer list of practices that sound reassuring but aren't in place.

Scope of this policy

This policy applies to shohozcalculator.com and the calculators, pages, and contact form hosted on it. It does not apply to third-party websites you may reach through links from our site, which have their own privacy practices — see "Third-Party Links" below.

Information we collect

Calculator inputs

The numbers and values you type into a calculator — a loan amount, an interest rate, a date, an income figure — are processed entirely in your own browser using JavaScript. They are not transmitted to our servers, stored by us, or seen by anyone on our side. If you close the tab or refresh the page, that input is gone; we never had a copy of it.

Information you provide directly

If you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, and the message you write. This is used only to respond to your message. As of this version, the contact form is a client-side form that is not yet connected to an email-sending or storage backend; submitting it does not currently send data anywhere. This policy will be updated before that changes.

Automatically collected information

Like most websites, our hosting provider's servers may log standard technical information for every request — such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request — for security and operational purposes (for example, detecting abuse or diagnosing outages). We do not currently operate any analytics, tracking, or visitor-behavior tools ourselves; if that changes, this section will be updated to name the specific tool and what it collects before it goes live.

Cookies and similar technologies

ShohozCalculator does not currently set cookies, use browser local storage, or use similar tracking technologies to identify or follow visitors. Our hosting provider may use technically necessary logging as described above. If we introduce cookies for a specific purpose in the future (for example, remembering a display preference), we will describe that purpose here before it's implemented, consistent with applicable consent requirements.

How we use information

The limited information described above is used only to: respond to messages sent through the contact form (once that feature is connected to a backend), keep the site secure and operating correctly, and understand — if and when analytics are introduced — how the site is used in aggregate so we can improve it. We do not use any information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

Analytics

We do not currently run any analytics or visitor-tracking service. If we add one in the future — for example, to see which calculators are most used, in aggregate — we will name the specific provider here and describe what it collects before it is enabled.

Advertising and third-party services

ShohozCalculator does not currently display advertising and does not use any advertising network, ad-tracking pixel, or similar third-party service. If that changes, this section will be updated to name the specific service before it goes live.

Data sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ShohozCalculator, our users, or others, in each case only to the extent necessary.

Service providers

The site is hosted with a third-party web hosting provider, which processes standard server logs as part of delivering the site to you (see "Automatically Collected Information" above). We do not currently use any other third-party service provider that processes personal data on our behalf. If that changes — for example, if we adopt an email delivery service for the contact form — this section will name that provider.

Data retention

Because calculator inputs are never sent to us, there is nothing for us to retain from your use of the calculators themselves. Any message sent through the contact form, once that feature is connected to a backend, will be kept only as long as needed to respond to it and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, then deleted or anonymized.

Data security

We take reasonable steps appropriate to the size and nature of this project to protect information from unauthorized access, including relying on our hosting provider's infrastructure security. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

ShohozCalculator is intended for use by an international audience. If our hosting provider or any future service provider processes data in a country different from your own, that transfer will be handled in accordance with that provider's own safeguards. We do not currently claim certification under any specific international data-transfer framework.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information relating to you — for example, rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of your information, broadly consistent with principles found in frameworks such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA. Because we collect so little personal information in the first place (see above), most of these rights will have little practical scope to exercise against us today, but if you have a request or question, you can contact us at the email below and we will respond.

Children's privacy

ShohozCalculator is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we do not collect calculator inputs and do not currently operate accounts or analytics, we do not knowingly gather information about any user's age or identity in the ordinary course of using the calculators.

Third-party links

Some pages may link to external websites (for example, a government tax authority or a reference source). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third-party sites, and we recommend reviewing their privacy policies separately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site's functionality changes — for example, if we add analytics, connect the contact form to a backend, or introduce cookies. Material changes will be reflected in an updated "last updated" note at the top of this page.
